Thank You

Being grateful is one thing that I most certainly am. I believe in being thankful for everything you have because the majority of the world lacks any sort of luxury. Sometimes, though I find myself taking things for granted. Whether its the affection I receive from my friends, family and partner or the fact that I own an iPhone 5. Information is apparent at an instant command. That, sometimes, I take for granted. The fact that back in the day, it took hours to find out where a figure in history went to high school but now, I just have to ask Google and voila - my answer. Among the love I get from my peers and how close information is to the tip of my finger, I'd have to say water is the thing I most take for granted. Knowing that 1/3 of the world doesn't have running water available to the public doesn't even come to my mind when I'm in the shower or rinsing out my mouth in the morning. It's rather incredible, thinking about it now.

Thank the universe for my health. I wake up every morning, look in the mirror and thank the universe that I'm alive and well. Though I may not have a 6-pack and am 5'7 1/2 with a total lack of athleticism, I'm still joyful of the fact that I can breathe, see, touch, feel, taste and hear. My mother is definitely the #1 thing in my life that I am most thankful for. She is my life, my savior, my nemesis and healer. All in one. I really have to say that she is the reason I'm still breathing so she's definitely who I thank the most. I love her.

I'm usually the one to hear something and keep it stored in my brain until I really need to use the information. Absorbing new ideas or concepts has never really been new to me (considering I'm an artist) so I'd have to say there aren't many things I'd want to take in. If there was one thing I wish I could absorb more often is defeat. I hardly ever lose an argument so when I do get involved in an argumentative debate, I never back down and go all out. That can get me into trouble though - there have been plenty of times where I almost got into a fist fight with a close friend or even called things off with my girlfriend. Learning to accept defeat and not stretch an argument is definitely something I need help taking in.

  1. Good post.

Good journal. Very honest reflections in there.

Remember to post pictures! Each post should have 3 images.

Your haikus are awesome! Great job on these. I like how you diversified your topics (and even gave them each a little title). These are very creative and innovative.

    I like it.

Where are the other weeks' assignments? Are you calculating to just pass by the skin of your teeth? Try to submit each week. Zeros will kill your grade.

You're too talented. You should be getting an A in this course.

It just takes time and focus.
